Milton Bradley Worry
I knew that Milton had a history of being a little short with the fuse and a bit sensitive, but after reading his last replies to going 1 for 3 after missing 5 days at spring training, I think he simply may have a bad attitude. That’s the last thing the Cubs need. I guess I just have to hope that Lou and Hendry made the right decision to sign up for $30 million 3 yr contract.
Le’ts refresh our memories on his past, shall we:
Milton Bradley, your blowout history in MLB:
* Spitting gum at an umpire while with the Montreal Expos
* Dugout altercation with Cleveland Indians manager Eric Wedge
* Throwing a bag of baseballs onto the field at Dodger Stadium after an ejection
* Throwing a water bottle in the direction of a fan
* Three incidents of domestic violence complaints in 2005 (no arrests were made)
* Altercation with Los Angeles Dodgers teammate Jeff Kent
* Public altercations with Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane
* Attempt to confront Kansas City Royals announcer Ryan Lefebvre, whom Bradley felt had made derogatory remarks about him during a broadcast

Milton Bradley does have a terrible attitude. I really can’t stand him.

Congrats on being the featured blog. I think Milton is a good bat to have in your lineup. He does get himself into trouble all the time and does get hit with the injury bug often. I think he would make a better DH in the AL, but if he can stay healthy and out of trouble. He deff will help you guys score runs and win some games. Just not against my Giants. lol jk

Milton’s a heck of a player, but his attitude has always been suspect, to put it mildly. Don’t forget the time he went after umpire Mike Winters and was restrained by his then-manager, Bud Black, who slammed him to the turf and tore Bradley’s ACL.
Ah, Milton…

I don’t even want to know what will happen when Bradley chucks a water bottle into the bleachers…

Glad I discovered this blog. I agree about Milton Bradley. He has always reminded me of Carl Everett, not sure why though.

Greg, I’ve said that on more than one occasion, myself. I think Bradley’s a much better player, though. And probably not quite the waste of a human being that Everett was… or maybe I only think that because Bradley was never an Astro.

I loved having Bradley here in San Diego. He was such a great player, he brought so much fire to our 2007 club. If he hadn’t come over to us, I don’t think we would have made it to game 163 that year. Unfortunately, he had a few injuries that prevented him from playing at his full capacity. I wish we could have kept him longer. Congrats on being the featured blog!

Haha good luck with him this year. I’m really glad the Phillies didn’t get him.

Hey 1060..lol on what would happen if Milton even LOOKS the wrong way at the bleachers, especially if it’s well into the game after heavy drinking. Maybe we can help humble him a bit by screaming rants about his Mom while he’s on the field. J/K…kind of.
Greg…at least you guys won more than once! I don’t even know what to think anymore, everytime I really think it’s our year we waste it all. Maybe I should become a mute and not think anything about the Cubs winning.
Kaybee…he’s totally racked with injuries! Ugh that’s the last thing we need. I don’t care how much he swears at the ump, as long as he helps us win. We need a bit of help, I hear Zambrano got shelled in the World Classic and he’s a firecracker of emotions as well, but he always means well.
Mark..thx again you RULE..oh I have STORIES. The bleachers themselves are a whole different world..usually a fight, some girl passes out from liquor and sun and several fans get kicked out for heckling a player. Ahhh the joys of alcohol.
King of Cali..well thx for hoping he does well..except for against the Giants. We all know that it’s how we do in post and not the regular season that counts. Your Giants have been tough against us in the reg season.
Melissa..thx for the comment, yeah I wouldn’t hang out with Bradley. He sounds like he’s nuts.
Hey Houston..I totally forgot about that. Well we’ve had Cubs players that have gotten in fights before. I still remember Barrett’s punch to the White Sox catcher (I personally laughed because we were getting creamed that series) and it was all over ESPN. Ok it’s not funny but it was the only thing I could grasp onto to make me feel better after being beaten by the hated Southsiders.
That’s a pretty nifty list for Mr. Bradley. I still can’t get over the irony of his name being childish. Old habits die hard… we’ll see that for sure this season I believe.
